Unbeaten Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua appear poised for title unification bout

Deontay Wilder has agreed to terms to fight Anthony Joshua in the UK
Both fighters fought in March, with Wilder defeating Luis Ortiz in a thrilling, come-from-behind fight where he was almost finished, while Joshua scored a lackluster win on the scorecards over Joseph Parker.
Yet it appears a breakthrough has come in negotiations between IBF, WBA and WBO champion Joshua and WBC title holder Wilder. Deontay wrote to Joshua and said 'Hey, I accept your offer, let's fight in the UK.
ESPN'sDan Rafael later quoted Shelly Finkel, Wilder's co-manager, as saying that the Wilder camp had agreed to terms with Joshua manager Eddie Hearn on a fight in the United Kingdom this fall, possibly as early as mid-September. The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the U.S. is still available.
Hearn contacted Joshua this morning to discuss the latest developments with the deal, and is waiting to see whether Wilder will sign for the next fight with Joshua, who is also close to a WBA mandatory title defence against Alexander Povektin.
"Now we will see if they live up to it or if they try to go through with the fight with [mandatory challenger Alexander] Povetkin first. Not as good as we feel it should be, but we want the fight, and we're willing to take what they offered", Finkel said. Hopefully, we'll get an answer in the next day or two.
"But either way, he's going to be getting a contract from us ASAP".
"We've got to get to the bottom of it all today".
If the Wilder fight is next up for Joshua, then the original plan of September 15 is now highly unlikely due to the lack of time involved, as well as the United States television clash with Canelo Alvarez's return from a drug's ban. "It's up to them to choose".
Joshua, 28, won his first world title in 2016 and has made five defenses, taking his record to 21-0 with 20 knockouts. The "Bronze Bomber" is 40-0 with 39 knockouts. Not only does he hold a majority of the prominent belts, his victory in a war over onetime long reigning division king Wladimir Kltischko established the fighter as the man to beat throughout the fight world.
As Wilder said, the ball is in the court of team Joshua now. "If it is before Povetkin, then it runs on October or November".
