Tyson Fury weighed in nearly five stone heavier than Sefer Seferi in Manchester
Sefer Seferi was the first fighter in nearly three years to share the ring with the returning Fury but the Albanian heavyweight quit on his stool after four rounds of action which left the Manchester Arena largely unsatisfied on Saturday night. Arena security entered after some time to stop the crowd's unrest, and to allow 29-year-old Fury to make his expected victorious march to the final bell.
"I learnt two and a half years is a long time, a thousand days, and I'm just very happy to be back".
"We took Seferi, who had a good record and a tough chin and he took me a few rounds".
"About two weeks ago I passed Carl and I saw that he'd picked Selby to win so I said "Listen, Selby's having it and after that we'll have a chat and I wouldn't mind coming to Windsor Park and fighting you".
"I'm sure Frank's going to keep me busy and the calibre of opponents will keep rising".
"I wanted to stand and have a fight with him, but it (the retirement) happened, and it wasn't my fault that they pulled him out".
Frampton headlines a historic night in Belfast on August 18 and Fury has been added to the undercard. That's where he'll be.
"I wouldn't change a thing, and we move on to the next one".
"Tony Bellew absolutely, we'd go for that before the end of the year - not a problem".
While Fury showboated his way through the contest against an opponent whom he out-weighed by four and a half stone and towered over by a foot, the only real aggression was shown by fans engaging in a mid-bout brawl outside the ring. "The name of the game is to get the fights in, then by the end of the year be in a position for a big, big fight".
And the clearly overmatched and undersized Seferi - a career cruiserweight - could only handle his giant opponent for four rounds before his corner threw in the towel.
While Warren questioned whether Seferi could have a portion of his purse withheld for his feeble effort, Fury shrugged off the unsatisfactory ending, insisting he had enjoyed every minute of his ring return.
