Below are some examples of the meme, which include homophobic slurs.

The meme's recent rise in popularity - after it started out with the hateful hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown - has been somewhat ironic, but in general, it has a deeply sinister tone.

Since the memes came to prominence and Brown deactivated her Twitter account, fans have been calling out those who made the memes. "Why would I be scared of a faggot?"

According to a report from Variety, photos of the 14-year-old "Stranger Things" actress were being used by social media users to create homophobic memes.

In the wake of the incident, she has also disabled comments on her Instagram posts.

They continue: "She is a f**king child and you are cracking jokes about her hating gay people and wanting to kill them when she hasn't done anything wrong?" While numerous tweets directed at the actress have since been deleted, the tweets were said to have tried to label Brown as a violent homophobe by adding homophobic statements and slurs to her photos.

In actuality, away from satirical memes, Millie Bobby Brown is a passionate supporter of LGBTQ rights.
