Vivo Nex With Snapdragon 710 and Nex Ultimate With Snapdragon 845 Announced
14 June 2018, 10:09 | Cameron Gross
Vivo NEX is official with super-thin bezels, pop-up front camera and top-end specs
Is the Vivo NEX the first of a new breed of truly bezel-less smartphones? Like so many other groundbreaking Chinese phones, the Nex line will only be available in China (for now, anyway) later this month and nearly certainly won't make it to our shores, as Vivo doesn't import its wares to the U.S. There are actually two versions: NEX S and NEX A. Both models look identical, but the internal specs are slightly different.
Vivo NEX will be out in China soon.
Another highlight of Tuesday's launch involves Jovi, Vivo's own personal voice assistant which works on artificial intelligence technology. From being the first to put a Hi-Fi audio chip in a smartphone, launching the world's thinnest smartphone at the time of its release, to taking the first In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology to market, time and again Vivo has revolutionized and propelled the mobile user experience to another level.

Details and pricing of the Vivo NEX surface ahead of launch
Even with all these innovations set aside, the Vivo NEX is an impressive ultra-high-end handset, powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor and equipped with a whopping 8GB RAM, as well as up to 256GB internal storage space. There's no notch or thick bezel along the top of the phone to house the selfie camera and other technology, such as the earpiece, with the company including three new pieces of tech instead. Other local manufacturers like Xiaomi and Huawei are also using the in-display fingerprint scanning technology on their latest high-end devices, but we are yet to see it present on a widely-available device, even moreso on one that could be bought in the U.S. of A. Vivo Nex sports a 6.59-inch FHD+ 19.3:9 OLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a pop-up front-facing camera.
As mentioned, the Vivo Nex and Nex Ultimate smartphones differ only in terms of chipset, RAM and storage. The full-screen display also features an under display fingerprint reader.
The entry-level Nex A is priced at US$610. It is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture. "Vivo is evolving from a manufacturer to an innovative technology company that delivers hardware, software and services", said Alex Feng, Senior Vice President of Vivo. It is preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo that is overlaid with custom user interfaced called Energy UI that is driven by AI. There is a dedicated button beside the camera that triggers the voice assistant on the long-press action. Vivo says that the transition is "instant", and that probably means that it takes the "Elevating Camera" less than a second to get into position for shooting.

And the only teams to win four crowns in five years were that Boston squad and the 1950s Minneapolis Lakers in the NBA's infancy. Cavaliers: James scored 748 points in the playoffs, the second most in a postseason behind Jordan, who scored 759 in 1992.
