The only way to now stop this from happening is to turn off auto updates, and then disable the storage permissions for the Samsung Messages app. This, however, will also prevent you from willingly sending photos through the app. 2.

While the issue is confirmed to be on the S9 devices, it's not clear if other devices are affected.

Samsung has acknowledged the problem in a statement, saying, "We are aware of the reports regarding this matter and our technical teams are looking into it".

One Reddit user made a post titled, "My S9+ sent my entire photo gallery to my girlfriend last night while I was sleeping". It only gets noticed by the users when they receive some response from the recipient of the random photos. Samsung clarifies "If any user faces this bug, He must call the company directly at1-800-SAMSUNG".

For those anxious about the Samsung Messages glitch, AppleInsider recommends disabling the app's storage access permissions.

Samsung is aware of the issue and is now investigating it (and T-Mobile says the issue is on Samsung's end).

There's no definitive list of Samsung phone models affected yet, and the issue may be related to recent software updates pushed to phones.
