If the film continues along its current trajectory it should easily break $200 million domestically, and enter the top five or six box offices of the year.

Universal and Amblin Entertainment's "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" recently charged past $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Looking at the raw numbers you'd have to say that Ant-Man and the Wasp was a letdown for Marvel. Ant-Man and the Wasp received a "A-"CinemaScore from opening weekend audiences, just a notch down from the "A" for Ant-Man, and 55% of the overall audience was male while 58% of the overall audience was over the age of 25". After dominating the first half of 2018 with blockbuster flicks Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, the studio has now laid claim to its 20th consecutive No. 1 opener at the box office with Ant-Man and The Wasp. The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film earned $76 million domestically and raked in an additional $85 million overseas for a grand total of $161 million, which is higher than the studio had initially projected. The first Ant-Man took in $519 million back in 2015 and made another $69 million in DVD/Blu-ray/Digital-HD sales. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom took 3rd place with $28.5 million, bringing its worldwide take to just over a billion dollars.

Internationally, after crossing $1 billion at the global box office on Friday, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom added an additional $27.6 million overseas this weekend, bringing the film's worldwide total to $725.3 million for a global cume totaling $1.058 billion. Gerard McMurray directed the $13 million film, which was written and produced by James DeMonaco. In three weeks, the dinosaur tentpole has earned $333.3 million in North America. This makes Incredibles 2 the first animated movie to ever top $500 million, which, of course, makes it the highest grossing animated title ever. The Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin-led sequel picked up another $7.6 million, taking the domestic tally to $35 million.

Also opening in limited release was Annapurna's Sorry to Bother You, which landed the best per screen average of the weekend with US$44,881. Lakeith Stanfield, Armie Hammer, Tessa Thompson, Steven Yeun, Danny Glover, Terry Crews, David Cross, Patton Oswalt, and Omari Hardwick round out the cast. Incredibles 2 made $29 million at the United States box office this weekend, bring its domestic box office total to $504 million.

Another documentary, Neon's Three Identical Strangers earned US$717,008 million from five locations, bringing its domestic tally past US$1 million.

The 2018 box office, which just hit $6.5 billion, is up 9 percent from past year, according to ComScore.
