The bus crash in rural Saskatchewan left 16 people dead, including 10 players from the Broncos team and their coach, and another 13 injured.

"Me personally, I think it's a really touchy and tough subject to talk about".

Jaskirat Sidhu faces 16 counts of risky operation of a motor vehicle causing death, 13 counts of unsafe operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

It was reported by CBC News that the bus carrying the hockey team had the right of way when it collided with the truck driven by Sidhu.

Family members of crash victims and survivors expressed some relief at the news on Friday.

In all, investigators conducted more than 60 interviews, took over 6,000 photographs and reviewed numerous documents including the driver's log book.

In the days following the collision, Regina lawyer Aaron Fox, who has taken on his share of cases involving driving-related fatalities, said that investigations into fatal crashes take time and, despite the tragic circumstances involved, not all result in criminal charges.

Sussums lives in the nearby town of LeRoy but works in Humboldt.

Since the collision, a GoFundMe in support of the team has raised millions of dollars and is now in the process of being distributed to those impacted. He was set to appear in court next week.

Williams noted that since the investigation was focused on the driver, he could not answer questions regarding the Calgary-based trucking company that contracted the semi.

A bust of the city's namesake, Alexander von Humboldt, decorated with the Broncos colours. There were no impaired driving charges laid on Friday, Williams noted.

"In a collision like that, someone needs to be held responsible", he said.

Thirteen more people were injured. "I guess we'll just wait and see in the courts".

Spokespeople for the RCMP are not releasing any information as to what specifically caused the crash as the matter is now before the courts.
