Clippers bring back Mbah a Moute; Rockets targeting Anthony

Rockets lose Cameroon’s Mbah a Moute, seek Carmelo—report

The revelation that Carmelo Anthony and the Oklahoma City Thunder reportedly will part ways this summer has given way to rumors and speculation over where he'll land if he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Mbah A Moute had a one-year deal last year with the Rockets worth $2.1 million.

The 24-year-old restricted free agent and Houston are far apart in their contract negotiations, according to a report from USA Today's Rockets Wire.

The Los Angeles Clippers agreed with Houston Rockets forward Luc Mbah a Moute to a one-year, $4.3 million deal on Monday, according to an ESPN report.

The Rockets are among the teams that Anthony is reportedly interested in playing for, though money could be an issue. He may be even more motivated to do that if reaches a buyout agreement with the Thunder. The 10-year veteran was also a key component in Mike D'Antoni's offense, chipping in 7.5 points per game while shooting 36 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Acquiring Anthony on a veteran's minimum contract is still a possibility, but one that will prove all that much more hard if they also plan to bring him off the bench - as two concessions are much more than he'd be willing to make. The former UCLA standout started a career-high 76 games in his final year in Los Angeles before transitioning back to a role player off the bench during Houston's campaign to the Western Conference Finals.
