IHOb no more: IHOP announces 60-cent short stacks

IHOP admits they lied to us all and the Internet is still mad

Remember all that drama over IHOP changing its name to IHOb?

When the restaurant chain announced 60 cent short stacks, they also fessed up to faking their IHOb name change. And as it turns out they're not even changing their name after all.

IHOb should really stand for "International House of betrayal", because less than a month since the big reveal, the former burger house is reverting back to its pancake roots.

In June, IHOP changed its name to IHOb to promote its burger line.

"We just had some burgers to bromote", the company said in a tweet.

But it moved conversation away from pancakes for a minute, a rebrand that Business Insider called an "incredible strategic move".

On Monday, it was back on social media, this time to promote a pancake deal tied to IHOP's 60th birthday.

Hollis Johnson/Business InsiderIHOP will continue to sell both pancakes and burgers.

After the name change, that number jumped to 30 percent. That's what we're after: "Giving more people more reasons to come to IHOP more often".
