Kylie Jenner set to become the youngest self-made billionaire on Forbes list
Forbes values her company - of which she owns 100% - at almost $800 million. "I don't want to do it with anyone else, '" Jenner said.
Kylie Jenner is so close to hitting billionaire status, and Forbes is already here to celebrate her latest accomplishment!
The 20-year-old with her seemingly unstoppable makeup empire, Kylie Cosmetics, is one of seven newcomers on the list, which includes the likes of her sister Kim Kardashian.
Today, the financial magazine Forbes estimates that she is worth $900m, making her not just the richest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan (Kim Kardashian West is believed to be worth around $350m), but on course to become the youngest self-made billionaire ever.
"Social media is an awesome platform", says Kylie, who ranks No. 27 on the list. "It could easily be an instant game-changing acquisition for any company on the hunt for a winning brand with a younger customer", senior VP or merchandising at Ulta Tara Simon said.
"Ever since I was in sixth grade, I would wear purple eye shadow", she remembers.
However, a lot of people out there criticized her haters, stating that they were merely jealous and resentful of her accomplishments, and would never be able to amass a fortune of a billion dollars, even if they wanted to.
Jenner said she got the idea to launch her signature "lip kits" because she loved putting on lip liner as a teenager.
Before the company started three years ago, Kylie used some $250,000 of her earnings from modeling gigs to pay an outside company to produce the first 15,000 lip kits but quickly realized she wanted to do it on her own.
Luckily for Kylie Jenner, she's officially won the Kar-Jenner billionaire race! She has become so dominant on social media that when she tweeted that she had become bored with Snapchat, its parent company's stock lost 6% of its value within a day, around $1.3bn.
Kylie, who also features on the cover of Forbes' August edition, has made about $900 million as the founder and owner of Kylie Cosmetics, her commercial deals with Puma and other brands and through the revenue that comes from being a reality TV star.
