TMZ: Charles Oakley Arrested for Allegedly Cheating at Las Vegas Casino on Video

Charles Oakley arrested for allegedly cheating at casino

Charles Oakley reportedly tried to pull a fast one at a Las Vegas casino earlier this month, and the former National Basketball Association star is now facing charges because of it.

TMZ reported further details, saying that Oakley pulled back a $100 chip once he realized he was about to lose his bet. After they reviewed the footage, Oakley reportedly was booked at Clark County Detention Center.

Oakley was arrested by Nevada Gaming Control Board Enforcement Agents at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. If convicted, he faces one to six years in prison.

"This is not a significant matter and we expect it to be resolved quickly", Alex Spiro, Oakley's New York-based attorney, told ESPN.

LAS VEGAS-Former Toronto Raptors forward Charles Oakley is being accused of gambling fraud after a wager at a Las Vegas casino last weekend, casino regulators said Thursday. That allegedly continued into his advanced years-he was told to leave Madison Square Garden during a 2017 game, and was caught on camera in an incident involving area security. The Knicks said Oakley had been engaging in "abusive behavior", but Oakley argued he was targeted because of his public criticism of Knicks owner James Dolan.

Oakley now is the head coach of the Killer 3's in Ice Cube's BIG3 League. Dolan suggested Oakley was drunk and heckling him, and Oakley was arrested for assault, harassment and trespassing.

It was not clear what game Oakley was playing at the time. Oakley has fought the charges.
