Rand Paul delivers letter from Trump to Putin in Russian Federation

Putin lobbied US President Donald Trump to control nuclear arms
Sen. Rand Paul delivered a letter from President Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin's staff during a trip to Moscow, the lawmaker announced Wednesday, the latest surprise diplomatic overture to the Kremlin at a time when the two countries are locked in an intensifying dispute over Russian election interference. Yet the White House said after Paul's declaration that it was the Kentucky senator who had requested the letter to Putin - and that Trump included in the letter issues that Paul has raised.
In addition, Putin in Helsinki allegedly spoke with trump about the new ban the deployment of weapons in outer space and called for the establishment of a consultative mechanism at the level of Ministers of defence and foreign Affairs.
Paul received the letter before leaving Washington and then hand-delivered it to the Russian government, the source said.
There has been no indication that a Putin-Paul meeting would occur. At a joint press conference, Trump refused to condemn Putin and cast doubt on the USA intelligence community's conclusion that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 election.
Paul (R-Ky.) never secured a meeting with the Russian president.
Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts revealed the contents of the letter on Wednesday. Trump's top intelligence official, Dan Coates, has said he is still in the dark about what Trump discussed with Putin in their tête-à-tête in Finland.
Last Thursday, Rubio and Van Hollen, noting the "urgency of the challenge before our nation", wrote to the chairmen of the Senate Banking and Foreign Relations committees pressing them to hold hearings on the legislation before the start of an early August recess. He (Paul) is interested in leglislative [sic] exchanges, parliamentary dialogue and cultural and educational exchange programs, increased counter-terrorism co-operation, building on recent successes like the disruption of the St. Petersburg plot and resolution of the military conflicts in Syria and Ukraine.
