Blizzard has 'multiple Diablo projects in the works'
A new video suggests that Blizzard is working on multiple Diablo projects that we will hear about very soon. Camel admits that some are going to take longer than others, but that there might be some news to share "later this year".
We've had numerous leaks, including job postings, in the past seemingly confirming a new Diablo game was now in production, but this is the first time we've had concrete proof directly from the developers themselves.
Blizzard are known for leaking future games through their careers site, but no one could have guessed "project" would turn plural.
For starters, Diablo 3 is getting "themed seasons" starting with season 14. He loves video games and sports, but not sports video games.
We've been reporting on Diablo 4 possibilities for years, with job postings giving us a hint about what to expect from the next Diablo game.
It's been more than six years since Diablo III first released, and more than a year since its last DLC arrived, but the franchise isn't lying dormant. Diablo III's launch was pretty disastrous, what with the bad Battle.net issues, terrible difficulty scaling, poor drop rates, and the terrifying Real Money Auction House.
For instance, Blizzard noted at Blizzcon 2017 that it didn't have anything Diablo-related ready to show, but that there would be a time in the future when the studio would be ready to show something. Blizzard Entertainment did finish the Diablo 3 but offered a fresh new take on the series.
