NEVER SAY NEVER Elba
According to Daily Star, Bond franchise producer BarbaraBroccoli has revealed that we could be on the cusp of getting a black 007.
The conversation was said to have included Elba, saying the film needed "a guy with a physically strong presence". "Anything is possible. Right now it's Daniel Craig, and I'm very happy with Daniel Craig, but who knows what the future will bring?"
He added: "Idris could do it if he was in shape".
Elba also plays the title role in British crime drama Luther, voiced Chief Bogo in Zootopia, plays Heimdall in the Marvel movies, and famously cancelled the apocalypse in 2013's Pacific Rim.
Elba's name has always been tossed around as an ideal candidate.
Various names including Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hiddleston have been mentioned.
The Hollywood chief, 58, told an industry pal "it is time" for the famous spy to be played by a black actor. The author of the 2015 James Bond novel, "Trigger Mortis". Will Elba want to play it as much as everyone else wants him to?
For years, Idris Elba has been pushed to the front of the line by fans of the James Bond franchise as the next 007. I think he is probably a bit too "street" for Bond.
Horowitz himself casued a media storm when he said Elba was "too street" for the role. "LETS GO." - while television and film producer Robert Schooley tweeted that Elba is a natural choice for Bond: "Of course Idris Elba should be James Bond, do we even need to pretend there's a question here?"
He said to Vanity Fair: "It could be a woman - could be a black woman, could be a white woman". It's not a color issue.
