Omarosa says she secretly taped her White House firing, plays audio

Details of the fire are obstructed by the large clouds of smoke
Those days, she announces with flourish in a new memoir, are over.
Her book has come under intense scrutiny with many calling it a tome of falsehoods and uncorroborated gossip.
In the book, Manigault Newman painted the president as scattered, self-absorbed, misogynistic and insecure.
Manigault-Newman had appeared on Trump's TV reality show, "The Apprentice", as well as the reality show "Celebrity Big Brother". She proved to be so polarizing (popular? hated?) that Trump had her back for two additional seasons of "Celebrity Apprentice" in 2008 and "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" in 2013.
Shortly after Manigault-Newman was sacked in January the White Housecreated a new policy that bars staff and guests from using personal cellphones in the West Wing.
Trump has retweeted white nationalist material, said Mexicans crossing the United States border are rapists and drug dealers, once referred to a Hispanic Miss Universe as "Miss Housekeeping" and employed Steve Bannon, a central figure of the new "alt-right" in America, as his campaign chief and top strategist for a time.
She said Sunday that she had since heard it personally after the publication of the book.
"The president is frustrated that the attorney general recused himself in early March of 2017 from anything having to do with the campaign", she said.
The author says she now regards Kelly's phrasing as a "very obvious" threat that justifies her secretly recording the meeting.
Manigault told the site Trump "wants to start a race war", and added, "he's succeeding". "Fake news!" He did not say that. "After a while, I do think it become white noise and opinions about what you think of the president's character are pretty much cemented on one side or the other".
Last week White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders charged the book is "riddled with lies".
Like numerous assorted presidential hangers-on who populated the White House in the early days of Trump's administration, her responsibilities there were never entirely clear.
"There are so many of these [White House defections], we'll be talking about somebody else next week or the week after", Deace opined. "I had a blind spot where it came to Donald Trump". The deterioration, she posits, is perhaps due to his copious intake of Diet Coke.
This is just one of a list of claims made by Omarosa Manigault Newman in a book lifting the lid on her former boss that threatens to reduce what's left of Trump's reputation to tatters - and could even destroy his presidency.
Manigault Newman then spoke about the recording. But she has recordings. In her book, Newman describes hearing about the tape but not hearing it herself.
"Donald Trump was uncannily intuitive and extremely perceptive".
For that job, Spicer signed a standard employment agreement.
"Treating someone with love and kindness after abuse is a classic cult tactic", she wrote. "So yes, I had to protect myself, and I have no regrets about it".
Former White House Aide Marc Short said in an interview on ABC Sunday that everyone has to give up their phone when entering the room.
But in the battle of credibility between a scorned staffer and an administration that routinely lies, few winners emerge.
White House sources said they have not seen a tanning bed in the building.
