Omarosa Says Donald Trump Is Trying To Start A Race War
President Donald Trump greets cheering members of Bikers for Trump and supporters, Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at the clubhouse of Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. She is set to appear on NBC News' Meet the Press with Chuck Todd Sunday and Monday morning on Today where she might speak more about her book and Trump.
In a new column, Chait goes out on a limb in defending the savvy of Manigault Newman.
Former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman writes in her new book that President Donald Trump wanted to be sworn in on his own book, The Art of the Deal, instead of the Bible.
Manigault Newman, who came to fame on Trump's reality show "The Apprentice" years ago before going to work in his administration, is set to release her expose, "Unhinged", on August 14.
Manigault Newman was a contestant on Trump's The Apprentice reality show and later served as a senior adviser to the President.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders criticized Unhinged as "riddled with lies and false accusations".
After turning down the job, she said she received a "flurry" of letters from attorneys representing the president telling her to "stay silent about Trump, or else". She also says she later concluded that he is a racist and a bigot.
Many across social media are giving Omarosa Manigault Newman the virtual side-eye over her seemingly contradictory statements about Donald Trump's use of the N-word.
Throughout the book, Manigault Newman paints a deeply critical portrait of the president, describing him as a man who "loved conflict, chaos and confusion; he loved seeing people argue or fight".
"Current and former Trump staffers don't know what conversations Manigault Newman recorded", he writes.
But CNN reports that The White House has called Omarosa a "disgruntled former employee" who is trying to make a buck off of fake stories.
