Russia Claims Someone Deliberately Sabotaged The International Space Station

Russia Finds ISS Hole Made Deliberately Says Space Chief Dmitry Rogozin

The trio's departure leaves three crew members aboard the space station, headed by German astronaut Alexander Gerst, who took over the commander's role from Feustel.

A Russian space capsule with three men onboard has safely landed in a barren steppe in Kazakhstan after a six-month mission aboard the International Space Station.

"Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, now believes the hole was made on objective".

These astronauts have come back in a time when officials from Russia and the United States are investigating a mysterious hole in a Russian spacecraft on the space station.

NASA astronauts Drew Feustel and Ricky Arnold and Oleg Artemyev of Roscosmos touched down on steppe land southeast of the Kazakh town of Dzhezkazgan at the expected time of 1145 GMT.

On the Ground today flying Americans Richard Arnold and Andrew Feustel and Russians Oleg Artemyev. The hole has been identified and fixed by space station crew.

At 13:51 the engines of Soyuz MS-08 will be turned on to slow down the spacecraft and send it into descent.

Artemyev conducted one spacewalk, with fellow cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev, to manually launch four small technology satellites and install an experiment called Icarus onto the Russian segment of the space station.

The spacewalk timed out at 7 hours and 46 minutes, the longest in Russian space programme history.

Russian space agency Roscosmos immediately launched an investigation into the hole, and its chief official Dmitry Rogozin went on television days later to say it could have been the result of foul play either back on Earth or by astronauts in space.

That suggests the hole was "an isolated issue", NASA said, not one expected to reappear on the next Soyuz, which is scheduled to launch October 11 from Kazakhstan with NASA's Nick Hague and cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin.
