LG V40 ThinQ smartphone with five cameras, Watch W7 announced
07 October 2018, 01:03 | Cameron Gross
LG v40 ThinQ official with five cameras, 6.4-inch notched display and Snapdragon 845
The display of V40 is P-OLED with 6.4-inches screen.
The V40's design features a smooth matte glass finish which is a result of LG's proprietary Silky Blast process, which etches the tempered glass back with microscopic pits. We will have more to say about the phone in coming days, but for now here is your quick introduction to the V40 ThinQ. The much-rumored V40 ThinQ is now official and just like the leaks suggested, it comes with a total of five cameras - three on the rear and two on the front. In fact, it is pumped LG G7, released six months ago, and now it's full ability, though not quite for the right price. But if the G7 were used IPS-matrix, the V40 received a POLED panel with a diagonal of 6.4 inches. It is paired with 6GBRAM. LG is also sugar coating the price with a DJI Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal as well as a SanDisk 256GB microSD card bundle for free at the above-mentioned prices. Note, the new flagship from LG supports wireless charging and battery capacity, the new product was 3300 mAh.
In addition, there are features such as the boombox speaker, 32-bit Hifi Quad-DAC, a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, facial recognition via the dual front camera and also a Google Assistant button on the left side of the device is again included.
The weight of LG V40 is around 169 grams with IP68 rated water and dust resistance for up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. The LG V40 is also tuned by Meridian. The rear setup comes with a combination of 12-megapixel with f/1.5 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization, 16-megapixel super wide camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture. Top it all off, Google and OnePlus are scheduled to reveal their new flagship smartphones this month and this makes it almost impossible for other companies to step in and steal some of the spotlight for them.
On the other hand, there's an 8 megapixel f/19 and 5-megapixel wide angle f/2.2 front-facing cameras.
Both cameras feature a portrait mode with light effects like the iPhone XS. The primary camera uses a 12 MP sensor which has large 1.4um pixels and a f/1.5 aperture and a 78° field of view. It also includes: dual phase detection auto focus, f/1.5 aperture and artificial intelligent assistance. It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with LG UX which is said to be Android 9.0 (Pie).
There's still the highly-touted LG AI features on the cameras, so the phone will be able to intelligently adjust scene settings for you while you're shooting. The timing of updates to the newest version of the mobile OS company is still not announced. There's no word yet about the handset's India pricing and availability.
