Microsoft Forced To Pull Windows 10 October 2018 Update As Users Report Files Being Deleted
"We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating", the tech giant posted on its Support page. It was launched to coincide with a new range of Surface hardware being unveiled at an event in NY.
The bug has raised questions about the effectiveness of the Windows 10 Insider Program, under which millions of users test pre-release builds of Windows 10 to identify problems like the document-wiping issues to stop them from reaching the general public.
Restart Windows Update by navigating to services.msc in the Start menu. One user on the Microsoft support board claimed to have lost 220 gigabytes of files.
Presumably the reports got missed in the noise that is the Feedback Hub, didn't get enough upvotes to register, or the problem couldn't be replicated in Microsoft testing and was therefore considered too low priority to worry about.
Microsoft's Windows Server 2019 has also been pulled, although Microsoft has not made an official statement to that effect.
If you have updated recently it might be a good idea to have a quick check of your personal files to see if anything has been deleted.
If you're in this position, then you can call +1-800-Microsoft or the local support number if you're overseas. If that doesn't work, the issue escalates to a NTFS file system recovery process, which depends on the missing file data not being overwritten.
Microsoft advises that those who have downloaded the update to a USB drive ready for installation should wait until a new update is ready and use that instead. Before the rollout of 1809 was ceased updates on platforms using this Intel driver may have been blocked to avoid "excessive processor demand and reduced battery life".

How José Mourinho Is Killing Manchester United
But after being booed off at half-time, United avoided going five games without a win thanks to a thrilling second half fightback. At 2-0 at half-time, with all the dynamic of the man-hunting, I think they behaved amazingly well for the team.
