The 9th Gen Intel Core Desktop Processors Are Now Official: Lead By Core i9-9900K 8C/16T Chip
The Core i5-9600K has six cores, also without Hyper-Threading.
The Intel Core i7-9700K sadly comes doesn't come in at the same $359 (£389, AU$524) price the Intel Core i7-8700K did. Intel has the 4-core boost at 4.8GHz while 6/8-core CPU boost reaches 4.7GHz.
Intel today officially announced the first round of 9 generation Core processors, and given all the leaks that have occurred over the past few months, there weren't too many surprises.
Intel has dropped hyper-threading on its lower-end, budget processor before, but this is a high-end processor meant for gamers and creatives. The i9-9900K runs at 3.6 GHz, but it can be speed-boosted to a full 5 GHz. Intel has also said that the all-core frequency for the i9-9900K is 400 MHz faster than the i7-8700K.
Intel is using a Solder Thermal Interface Material (STIM) on the new 9900K, something that should make some people happy with integrated USB 3.1 gen 2 and integrated Intel Wireless-AC connectivity.
Intel just held its Fall Desktop Launch Event in New York City this morning, where the chip maker unveiled its latest lineup of desktop processors for high-end PCs. Intel is launching a new chipset with these parts - Z390 - but has confirmed that all the news parts are fully compatible with existing 300-series chipsets via the LGA 1151 socket.
These processors are a direct competitor to AMD's Ryzen 7 line released earlier this year. During a brief demonstration following Intel's announcement, I witnessed a test machine with a Core i9-9900K and an Nvidia GTX 2080 achieve a score of 33,144 on the World of Tanks Encore in-game benchmark, while a similarly configured system with a Core i7-8700K recorded a result of 30,318. "Intel said that the 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K processor achieved up to 309 frames per second (FPS) on Rainbow Six: Siege; up to 224 FPS on Fortnite; up to 440 FPS on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive; and up to 221 FPS on PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds", wrote VentureBeat.

Those who tried to destroy his life fell short. "I had never seen a survey like that in Tennessee in recent weeks". A separate, public swearing-in ceremony is planned for 7:00 pm (2300 GMT) Monday in the White House's East Room.
