Thus, the update to iOS 12.0.1 should help some iPhone users experience faster Wi-Fi connectivity.
Last week, we reported on an iPhone XS and iPhone XS Maxcharging bug that saw some handsets fail to receive power if plugged in while the display was asleep. Their iPhone XS would attempt to rejoin a previously-connected WiFi network at 2.4 GHz, even if it had been using 5 GHz beforehand. Other iPhone models running iOS 12 also were affected, but everything should be hunky dory once iOS 12.0.1 is installed.
The position of the.?123 key has also been switched back in this update on the iPad. iOS 12 swapped the position of the.?123 key and the emoji/language key, which annoyed some users and this update swaps it back.
However, iOS 12.0.1 pales into insignificance when compared to both of those releases, as, is the naming convention suggests, it is just a relatively minor bug fix release that Apple is looking to get out into the hands of device owners. Apple switched the position of the key with the one for emoji/language in iOS 12. If you've been online at all in the past few weeks, you've probably read about a charging issue affecting some iOS 12 devices. That includes Apple's official release notes, highlighting any changes, and any security-related content which outlines exactly which bugs and vulnerabilities the company has patched with this release.
Users can download the latest update by navigating to Settings General Software Update on their iPhone or iPad.
