India make history with crushing victory against West Indies by an innings and 272 runs

India vs West Indies 1st Test Day 2 at Rajkot Live cricket score; LIVE streaming: When and where to watch in India, live coverage on TV

Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries as India put up a total of 649/9 before declaring.

Since that tour, West Indies have toured India in 2002, 2011 and 2013 and lost all three series.

On the other hand, the West Indies need to come out with something special to challenge the confident Indian team.

"The team will have a camp before the start of the ODI series in Guwahati, so we had to select the squad before the start of the Super50 Cup, in order to organise flights and visas".

With temperatures touching almost 40 degrees Celsius on each of the three days of the Rajkot Test between India and West Indies, players from both sides were constantly under the supervision of umpires while asking for drinks breaks.

Denying India a flying start will be crucial to their hopes of levelling the series in Hyderabad and Chase, who bowled 26 overs of off-spin for the lone wicket of Ajinkya Rahane in Rajkot, said his team would be better prepared for Shaw. "We are all very happy for him", he added.

"We shouldn't compare him to anyone yet". He also impressed in Delhi Daredevils colours in IPL 2018, scoring 245 runs from nine matches at a stunning strike rate of 153.12.

Kohli said Shaw, 21-year-old wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant and batsman Hanuma Vihari, 24, had learned to handle the stress of top competition by playing in the Indian Premier League.

"It is always good to have the captain back, but I am not sure what the line-up will be for the next match", Chase said.

"So I agree with the fact that they have played in situations in the IPL where they play in front of so many people that they are not nervous anymore at the big stage".

While Kohli's batting has never been in doubt, something that was refreshing to see was the captain's tactics this test match.

"The Dukes ball, I think, is the most suited ball for Test cricket".

Batsman Evin Lewis, who had turned down a West Indies central contract, was selected in both squads. "The only way we can silence the critics - or try to silence them because I don't think they'll ever shut up - is by playing cricket". If you look at our history in the last three-four-five years, our suited formats has ideally been T20 cricket and second behind would be Test cricket.

India skipper Virat Kohli will have a chance to break another record of Sachin Tendulkar in the upcoming second Test against West Indies.
