The conversation turned to West expressing the lack of support he received from his Hollywood cohorts with regard to his support of the president.

RAP superstar Kanye West loves Donald Trump and proved it in dramatic fashion on Thursday, leaping from his seat at a White House meeting to hug the president. The New York Times initially revealed the details of West's visit, purportedly to discuss prison reform with Jared Kushner and Chicago job creation with President Trump.

During one pause, Trump seemed to acknowledge the oddness of the moment, saying, "That was quite something".

West recently made waves by wearing Trump's signature "Make America Great Again" hat during an appearance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and delivering a pro-Trump speech after the show went off the air.

His wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, has worked with the White House on criminal justice reform and clemency issues. "You made a Superman cape for me, also, as someone who looks up to you. looks up to American industry guys".

"My dad and my mom separated so there was not a lot of male energy in my home and also I'm married to a family where, you know, there's not a lot of male energy", Kanye said.

He broke into a nervous laugh and we just hope he's not referencing his weird new song again, you know the one where he says he'd "smash" his four sister-in-laws.

Trump and West talked a range of topics including reducing violence in Chicago, which is where the rapper grew up.

Complaining about prison sentences, West said that people fall through a "trap door" and "end up next to the Unabomber".

Over a lunch of caprese salad and roast chicken, Gidley said discussion would be centered on "President Trump's historic work to benefit all Americans". "I think it would be cool to have Trump factories", he suggested.

"It hurts us as people, specifically black people, the idea, because we say, was America ever great for us?" I want to hear what Kanye West wants to do when we're talking about criminal justice reform or prisoner reentry - the fact is he can not.

He advocated bringing more manufacturing jobs to the U.S. and mentioned Apple as one of the companies who could help build the vehicle.

Earlier Thursday, Trump told "Fox and Friends" Thursday that West is "a different kind of guy and that's OK with me".

Rapper Kanye West shows President Trump a photograph of a hydrogen plane. Apparently, when West was done speaking, Trump said, "That was pretty impressive".
