The handset will be available for purchase in select markets starting from early November. Needless to say, the Galaxy A9 impresses quite a lot in the specifications and features department, so Samsung is actually staying true to its word that the Korean giant will incorporate high-end features on its mid-range lineup. While the looks can be subjective to some, the quality appears great.

That starts with the 6.3in Full HD+ AMOLED screen - what Samsung calls an "Immersive Display" to distinguish it from the flagships" "Infinity Display'. The A9 settles for a 2220 x 1080 resolution display.

Along the sides, you'll find power and volume buttons, but no Bixby switch.

On the front Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 has an 8-megapixel camera. The glass-bodied phone (no wireless charging though, sadly) is available in your choice of Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue or Bubblegum Pink - the latter two of which take a leaf out of Huawei's book with some really stunning gradient finishes. Samsung is yet to announce when the phone will make its way to India.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is powered by Snapdragon 660.

Samsung has been generous with onboard storage too.

Samsung has included fingerprint sensor at the back, and it is quite snappy.

There's also a 24MP camera at the front. And on the bottom, as one comes to expect, there's a USB-C port on the bottom, a single speaker and no 3.5mm headphone jack, a move likely nark a few people.

The A9 (2018) gets its juice from a sizeable 3800 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The build quality is top-notch and i really liked the overall premium feel of it.

Now an Evan Blass leak is trying to shed light on what those cameras will be able to do. There is now no pricing information available for the device.

Speaking at the event, DJ Koh, president and chief executive of the IT and mobile communications division at Samsung Electronics, said that with the Galaxy A7 and A9, the company was "showcasing Samsung's commitment to serve everyone".
