Storm Callum Check out where's it's heading

Met Éireann said the strong winds will continue for the morning, with the Status Orange warnings for Storm Callum remaining in place until 5pm for northwestern coastal areas.

Waves crashing over the sea wall at Saltcoats meant trains were cancelled between Kilwinning and Largs/Ardrossan.

The Britannia Bridge between Anglesey and the mainland was closed to all vehicles, and the A465 Heads of the Valleys road was also closed at Hirwaun in Rhondda Cynon Taff due to flooding.

Heavy downpours are forecast throughout Britain after thousands of homes were left without power yesterday due to adverse conditions.

Met Éireann has warned that south or southwest winds will continue to gust to between 100 and 130km/hr, with further infrastructural damage possible.

Ferry services between Wales and Northern Ireland and Dublin have been suspended.

Along with a spell of heavy rain and high tides there is a risk of coastal flooding and damage.

Sky's weather forecaster Kirsty McCabe said: "During Saturday, pulses of rain will slowly edge northwards into much of Scotland, while also affecting parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland". "We've got a wind warning which covers all the western side of the UK".

There are no reported power outages across the county - as well as no major obstructions or debris reported across the road network.

An amber rain warning for Wales in place until 6pm warned of danger to life from fast-flowing, deep floodwater, power cuts, and possibly some communities being cut off. "That's quite a substantial amount of rain to come and could bring flooding".

The MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the area and says people can expect delays to their journeys.

Whitchurch in Pembrokeshire saw 15mm of rain fall in a matter of hours on Friday morning as Michael moved in.

A 36-hour amber warning for Wales has been issued where almost a month's rain could fall over 48 hours.

The storm is set to give "further severe and locally damaging wind gusts" to the northwest of the country Friday, with gradually moderate winds elsewhere. The high winds, combined with heavy rain, could see leaves and twigs blocking drains, making flooding more likely, Mr Burkhill said.
