Even as the grisly details of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's death continues to shock the world, his sons have appealed to the authorities that they want to bury their father's body and return to the country for the objective.
On Sunday, Khashoggi's sons Salah, 35, and Abdullah, 33, demanded the return of his body.
"All what we want right now is to bury him in Al-Baqi [cemetery] in Medina [city in western Saudi Arabia] with the rest of his family", Salah said in the interview, released on Monday. "I talked about that with the Saudi authorities and I just hope that it happens soon".
However, when grilled on our nation's involvement, Trump declined to say if the deaths would make him rethink the arms deal with Saudi Arabia, although he made it clear that using USA provided bombs to kill civilians bothered him.
The two "wipers" went to the consulate every day from Oct. 12 to Oct. 17, leaving Turkey on Oct. 20, the newspaper said.
Mr Aiban told the hearing that King Salman had instructed the Saudi public prosecutor to "proceed with the investigation into this case according to the applicable laws" with a view to "bringing all the perpetrators to justice".
The official confirmed a report in the Sabah newspaper, which said that chemicals expert Ahmad Abdulaziz al-Janobi and toxicology expert Khaled Yahya al-Zahrani were among a team sent from Saudi Arabia purportedly to investigate the murder last month.
Diplomats urged Saudi Arabia Monday to take concrete steps to promote freedom of expression and protect human rights defenders and journalists.
So far Turkey has found no trace of Mr Khashoggi's body in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and the surrounding areas.
There has been widespread speculation about the events leading to the death of Khashoggi, most of which has since been retracted.
The report also cited Turkish experts who suggested the claim that acid was used to eliminate Khashoggi's body or render it unidentifiable is likely.
It is alleged that the powerful heir to the throne must have at a minimum been aware of the plan to kill Khashoggi, who had become increasingly critical of the Saudi royal family since moving to the U.S. in self-imposed exile in 2017. "Or he had a peaceful death", Abdullah Khashoggi told the USA network during the interview in Washington.
But he pointedly failed to absolve Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of responsibility for unleashing a "death squad" against the outspoken Saudi journalist.
A memorial service was held for Khashoggi on Friday night in Washington.
