Lee Kyeong-tae, Samsung vice president for mobile communication, said last week the phone's user interface will be unveiled at an annual conference for app developers which will take place in San Francisco on Wednesday. You fold the phone up when it's in your pocket or purse for a compact device, and then when it's time to do some real work, you can open the phone for a much bigger display. Now the company has several phones up its sleeves like the Galaxy S10 or the flip phone which is to debut in China but the foldable phone is said to be the most awaited-one out of all.
Earlier today, Samsung teased a photo with the company's logo folded on their Facebook page which seems to point to the ever talked about foldable phone that they have been working on for awhile now. The only thing we can really glean from the image is that the fold is a rather generous curve, so that may be an indication of the finished product's aesthetic. It looks like a real clunker, but these first-generation devices are usually the first step toward a viable screen device.
This is not the first hint from Samsung about a possible sneak peek at the upcoming foldable phone, though. Unfolded, the display size is 7.8-inches, with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The device comes in three different configurations 6GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 8GB+512GB RAM/ROM with internal storage expandable up to 256GB with a MicroSD card. The company could first unveil the phone in its homeland followed by other countries. In September, Samsung's mobile chief DJ Koh hinted that a foldable phone will be announced at its developer conference in November. This shows a possibility that the phone will be made available on global markets. The report further claims that the Korean company will mass produce an approximate 1000,000 units of the flexible display, starting this month.
