Delete that drunk Facebook text to your ex if you catch it
You may soon do that as Facebook is set to introduce a feature that would allow users to delete messages that have already been sent in its Messenger app. The note states that users will be able to remove a message within 10 minutes of sending it "if you accidentally send the wrong photo, incorrect information or message the wrong thread".
"Coming soon: Remove a message from a chat thread after it's been sent".
You can finally take back your ill-conceived messages on Facebook. Facebook is about to bring similar unsend functionality to its Messenger application, now that its WhatsApp mobile chat app has it. At least, that's how its worked for users whose name isn't Mark Zuckerberg.
As noted by The Verge, the release notes for version 191.0 of Messenger's iOS client list the unsend feature as "coming soon".
There isn't an exact date the "unsend" feature will be rolled out.
According to reports, the feature can only be used within 10 minutes of sending the message.
Google's for Gmail allows users to choose how long they have to unsend an email. In my experience, you know pretty quickly whether you've sent a message to the wrong person (or the wrong message to the right person) most of the time.
The option was first announced in April, followed by testing later in October.
