Thunder forward Paul George (1,859,216) is now third among Western Conference frontcourt vote-getters, catapulting ahead of the Warriors' Kevin Durant (1,717,968) and the Pelicans' Anthony Davis (1,564,347).

Dallas Mavericks rookie sensation Luka Doncic has also maintained his position with the second-most All-Star votes of all Western Conference frontcourt players.

In the totals released Thursday James leads all vote-getters with 2,779,812.

LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the fan voting in their respective conferences and seem to be the favorites to earn All-Star captaincy for this year's draft - although fan votes only count 50 percent with 25 percent to come from both the media and players.

Charlotte Hornets: Kemba Walker trailing in NBA All-Star fan voting for two starting guards in Eastern Conference

Irving is by far the leader among East guards with 2,381,901 fan votes. Every voter will complete one full ballot featuring two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference.

Meanwhile, Kyle Kuzma (584,842 votes) and Lonzo Ball (529,164) are holding at eighth among Western Conference frontcourt players and guards, respectively.

National Basketball Association head coaches will vote for the reserves and also for replacement nominees in case of an injury, which could bring a few other names into consideration down the line. A third report on all-star balloting will come out on January 17 before the final votes are then revealed for the 10 starters on January 24. The Charlotte Hornets' Kemba Walker (858,798) continues to hold third place, while Philadelphia's Ben Simmons (695,032) remains in fourth place.
