A picture of an egg just changed that

Instagram's most-liked post is going to be an egg, sorry Kylie Jenner

An Egg Has Poached The Most Liked Instagram Post Crown From Kylie Jenner

But that record has been fried by an image of an egg.

The photo has received over 22 million likes, beating previous No. 1 - U.S. celebrity Kylie Jenner's post of her new-born daughter Stormi.

A photo of an egg - literally just an egg with a white background - received over 23 million likes on Sunday, beating the first glimpse of Stormi which now has just over 18 million likes.

A photo of an egg has become the most-liked image post on Instagram.

To rub it in, many people took to Kylie's birth announcement photo where they posted egg emojis, or sometimes just the word "egg", in the comments, because the internet is nothing if it's not needlessly petty. "We got this", the post read. I'm gonna try and get back to as many of you as possible. "Take that little egg", she captioned the hilarious video.

As of writing, the egg picture has 21.9 million likes.

Right, so we're just going to lie down for a few minutes and process this information for a sec. - Jenner reposted a video of her cracking an egg, an apparent threat to whoever was behind the campaign to reach that milestone.

Only time will tell how many more world records will be bested by an egg.
