The blur feature has put Artificial Intelligence (AI) to use, as this advanced technology has been trained to recognize the human form.
"With a simple toggle, right-click, or even through your Skype settings, your background will be instantly and subtly blurred, leaving just you as the only focal point", the Skypeteam wrote Wednesday. Then close the menu to return to your call with a blurred background.
The video conferencing service Skype has introduced a new blurred background feature for more distraction-free video calling. The background blur option is available to the users during an ongoing videocall by hovering at the "video button" "located at the bottom of the screen".
A person who is lazy and has low standards of cleanliness calms down Skype has a new feature for you. Background blur is similar to what is available in Microsoft Teams. The feature can protect your privacy if you'revideo chatting in a public place, hide sensitive information or plans that might be on whiteboards behind you or keep your location secret. Skype keeping in view that it was lagging behind, finally realized that it needs to bring something new to its app to remain its users base which was previously shifted to the newly born apps.
Now you don't have to clean up before making Skypecalls. Skype didn't share future initiatives for background blur feature, but this would be absolutely cool, not to mention potentially life-saving, if implemented in the future.
"We do our best to make sure that your background is always blurred, but we can not guarantee that your background will always be blurred", said Skype in an announcement.
You guys can update your Skype to get the blur functionality on PC and Laptops.
