Orange you sad Mazda’s MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition is sold out

2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition

This year, one of the most world-renowned roadsters turns 30 years old, and for that Mazda is creating just 3,000 Anniversary Edition MX-5s, split between soft-top and retractable hard-top (RF) models. Each will wear an exclusive Racing Orange hue on their flanks, as well as on their brake calipers and interior accents.

Mazda has also fitted the 30th Anniversary cars with a unique wheel design, manufactured by RAYS Co., finished in a dark gunmetal color and styled after the wheels worn by Global MX-5 Cup race cars.

The veil was lifted from the limited edition model at the Chicago auto show in the USA, which is just getting underway now.

Three decades, that's how long the Mazda MX-5 has been in production.

Orange brake callipers complement the car's exterior shade, and United Kingdom models benefit from performance Brembo front brakes, too. These were developed exclusively by RAYS for the MX-5.

Aptly named the MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition, the vehicle features one of the only things that Miata fans across the world have been clamoring for since the introduction of the current ND generation: more color. Ltd, being forged aluminium in construction and based on the ZE40 10-spoke family of wheels. Curiously, the 30th Anniversary Edition also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, something absent from standard 2019 Miatas.

Special anniversary-edition badging has been place on the chassis, and it includes individual numbering for each of the 3,000 units that will be produced for all markets. Rest of the world would be getting 2.0 liter variant with 181hp. Pricing starts at $34,995 for a stick-shift soft-top, while the RF starts at $37,595.

After thirty years and more than 1 million drop-tops sold, Mazda is giving fans and enthusiasts a special birthday gift in celebration of this milestone.
