Monster Hunter World Witcher crossover event starts today

As part of a free title update, players can look forward to a new questline for Monster Hunter World featuring everyone's favourite monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia.

The official Monster Hunter Twitter account has just confirmed that the new Witcher content will be available today. We will convey to you about the update as soon as possible.

It all starts with the contract Trouble in the Ancient Forest, where our favorite Witcher needs to track down and deal with a "powerful force" known as the Leshen. This quest line is single-player only, and it will see Geralt venturing into the forest to hunt down and kill Leshen using his silver sword and spells.

Back in 2016, we first learned that Capcom was planning a Monster Hunter movie with Resident Evil film director Paul W.S. Anderson at the helm. How do you feel about Geralt joining the fray?

As Geralt, you will also be able to engage in dialogues with other characters, which will influence how the story unfolds through choices.

Completing the quest will "earn players unique, Witcher-themed special items, resources for crafting Geralt's armour and weapon set, a unique skin and weapon for the player's Palico companion, as well as new gestures, titles, pose, and guild card background".

The event is available right now on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release coming at a later, currently unspecified date. We couldn't have done it, of course, without the close collaboration of CD Projekt Red.

Ciri too is tagging along within The Witcher 3 and Monster Hunter: World crossover.

Are you excited to try this new content out? Filming kicked off late a year ago with a budget of $60 million, and now it has progressed to the point where Sony Pictures is confident in setting a release date.
