Aladdin then enters the cave to retrieve the lamp, and releases Genie into our view.

Disney gave Aladdin fans a glimpse of the upcoming live-action movie during the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday.

"Robin Williams infused the character with a timeless version of himself".

"The great thing about the role of the Genie is that it's essentially a hyperbole for who that individual actor is, so it's a wonderful platform and tapestry for an actor to fill his boots on".

But let's be real: it's Will Smith that steals the spotlight in the trailer, showing up at the very end and making quite the impression. The photo caused a bit of a stir, forcing Smith to assure fans he would be blue in the film.

"You really don't know who I am?" he asks.

Smith shared the trailer on Instagram, writing, "I told y'all I was gon' be Blue!"

There's plenty more goosebump-inducing moments in the one minute clip, including the "do you trust me?" meeting of hands before Aladdin and Jasmine go over sideways and under on their Whole New World magic carpet ride.

Other members of the cast, led by director Guy Ritchie, include Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, along with Marwan Kenzari, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar.
