WATCH Dry Today Before Freezing Drizzle Overnight

Early Sunday morning Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for nearly all of southern Ontario.

Heavy showers continue into Monday and will last throughout the day as well. "Snow will taper off to flurries on Wednesday", said a Sunday morning Environment Canada news release.

Sunday night: Cloudy with snow possible after midnight, mainly from NYC and points south. "A coating to 1" of accumulation is likely to our northernmost counties - Mifflin and Juniata. Temperatures tonight drop into the upper 20s leaving a good 10:1 snowfall ratio.

In the wake of cold air and a low-pressure system, the London-area will see snow return Tuesday night. Periods of plain rain will occur during Monday.

Due to strong and gusty easterly winds, there could be low visibility due to blowing snow before the snow turns into freezing rain and ice pellets.

You may also have to scrape ice off your auto early Monday morning. The possibility of rain before temperatures go below freezing means pre-treating roads would be ineffective, since salt would be washed away. Warmer air will surge into the region late Tuesday. This system appears to resemble the November snow we received followed by freezing rain and eventually rain. More of the precipitation will fall as rain and sleet instead of snow.
