The 18-year-old winger was substituted at half-time, but required medical treatment on the bench late in the game and was given oxygen before being carried from the ground on a stretcher.

The incident caused a 12 minute delay to the game.

A statement from Leeds clarified that the player "began to feel unwell during the second half", adding that he "is responsive and attending hospital with the club's head of medicine and performance".

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis passed on his best wishes to Clarke when he addressed the media.

Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear told the club's official website: "Jack has had messages from football fans from every club you can imagine and we all really appreciate it".

Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on Leeds United wonderkid Jack Clarke, who is enjoying an impressive debut campaign in the EFL Championship.




James Milner has been one of the unsung heroes for Liverpool this season as the midfielder is now playing at right-back with Trent Alexander Arnold out injured.

The stoppage while Clarke received treatment in the dug-out led to a length period of injury-time in which Leeds scored to force a draw with 100 minutes on the clock.

Clarke has been one of the Championship's breakthrough stars in 2018/19, making 16 appearances so far for Marcelo Bielsa's promotion chasing side.

Clarke was treated by paramedics in the Leeds dugout during the last 10 minutes of the game at the Riverside Stadium before being taken to the James Cook University Hospital for tests.

Middlesbrough, sit in fourth, four points behind Sheffield United and six behind Norwich in second.
