OnePlus to show off its 5G smartphone at MWC

A One Plus 5G phone will be revealed in just a few weeks time

The company's CEO has spoken about the 5G revolution and how OnePlus will be launching a 5G-ready handset, which will arrive alongside a non-5G flagship. However, this year OnePlus is going to make an exception to that rule and the reason why we are saying that is because OnePlus has announced that it will host a private panel at the MWC 2019 event. In case the 5G enable smartphone is in fact launched before the OnePlus 7, it can be assumed that the phone may bear features influenced by the OnePlus 6T, which was the company's latest smartphone to be release past year.

Ausdroid will be there in person to check out this prototype, given that we have been invited and we love OnePlus devices and the people associated with them.

Finally, Lau revealed that the OnePlus 5G phone will look a lot like the firm's current devices; expect a glass frame, an under-display fingerprint scanner and OnePlus" inoffensive "teardrop' notch. OnePlus 5G Phone OnePlus has been talking about 5G for months, but with very little to show for it.

The words noted in the media invite hints that the OnePlus 5G phone may be targeted to the gamers out there or mostly the power users. Even the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7T are said to be powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset but will be based on X24 modem. These components will provide the new phone with 5G connectivity. The company recently announced its "Connect with the OnePlus Community over 5G" event at the mobile consumer show.

He did mention, however, that OnePlus has been developing 5G devices since "as early as late 2016", adding that his team had already conducted a 5G test at Qualcomm's headquarters in San Diego back in August. The company has only given a short indication about this device for the MWC visitors.
