In case you didn’t know Kyler Murray is kind of a big deal — and his NFL pro day proved
Murray didn't get measured on Wednesday and skipped agility drills such as the broad jump, vertical and 40-yard dash.
The build-up to Wednesday's performance - witnessed by representatives from every National Football League team even though there's only a few that pick high enough to have a chance at Murray - was a short one.
The Sooners clearly set Murray up for success, holding the throwing session indoors and keeping Murray stationary in the pocket, but he made the most of his audition.
"I felt wonderful leaving the combine, every meeting I had went well", he said.
NFL Network analyst Charley Casserly recently characterized Murray's combine showing in a completely different light, controversially calling Murray's leadership, study habits and board work "not good".
"You get a perception in your mind about what somebody's going to be like, but when you see it in person it was a very, very strong performance", Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley said. I just don't think it's necessary for me.
"Thought it went well", Murray said. "At least to my face, no one was negative". "I think the film kind of speaks for itself".
Oklahoma quarterback prospect Kyler Murray'sheight measurement at the NFL Draft Combine two weeks ago no doubt helped his draft stock. "How many 6-5 quarterbacks have been drafted throughout the years that can't play dead?" He weighed in at 205 pounds on Wednesday. "I had a great experience".
Mayfield solidified his spot at No. 1 following Oklahoma's pro day past year.
"It was my job to come here and make throws", he said.
