Jaguar Land Rover recalls 44000 cars over carbon dioxide levels
JAGUAR LAND ROVER (JLR) is recalling over 44,000 cars for repairs after regulators in the United Kingdom found some vehicle models were emitting more carbon dioxide than previously estimated.
The British auto giant is recalling 10 different models across the Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover brand.
Some of the models will need physical repairs in a dealership, while some will need software updates, the spokeswoman said.
JLR also declared that it shall be contacting the owners of the affected vehicles in order to arrange free-of-charge repairs.
Despite JLR's very latest cars delivering exceptional real world emissions, it seems an terrible lot of the cars Jaguar and Land Rover has produced since 2016 - 44,535 of them - emit levels of Carbon dioxide which don't meet certified levels.

The European recall stated that affected cars "may emit excessive levels of Carbon dioxide and may not conform with the certified condition".
While today's announcement is far from the largest recall the industry has seen in recent years, the cost of carrying out work on 44,000 cars will come as a blow to the brand. Earlier this year, it had confirmed job cuts of around 4,500 amid sluggish global sales.
