Chinese Phone Giant 'OnePlus' To Enter TV

OnePlus is working on TV, not planning to launch foldable phone anytime soon: Report

OnePlus is making news for its upcoming OnePlus 7 series (OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro) every other day. About the optics, the device will boast a single pop-up front camera module while the rear will have a triple-camera array arranged with 48+16+8MP sensors and no ToF or depth sensor. The company has not revealed the official name of the smart TV, nevertheless, rumors are addressing it simply as OnePlus TV. OnePlus is expected to launch at least two models of the OnePlus flagship - OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The standard OnePlus 7 has model numbers GM1901, GM1903, and GM1905, while the OnePlus 7 Pro variant will have model numbers GM1911, GM1913, GM1915, GM1917. To recall, OnePlus 6 was launched on May 16 past year and next day it was unveiled in India. However, going by the latest reports, the company will be launching three smartphones this time. The company is also expected to launch the 5G variant of OnePlus 7 Pro later this year.

According to Lau statement, OnePlus is expected to utilize the power of 5G and bring virtual assistant with the smart TV. The OnePlus 7 will again come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and will have an impressive screen-to-body ratio. Although that's certainly a specific projection, Agarwal doesn't make it clear if he's referring to a global announcement date or an actual commercial launch.

I'm pretty sure you all will soon see OP7 leaks flooding on your timelines since I can confirm that the launch is in May.

As reported earlier, it is expected that OnePlus will also follow the steps of Apple and Samsung and launch a series, instead of just one phone a year.

Recently OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed some key details about the upcoming OnePlus TV at a student interaction in Europe. Ergo, the company made a decision to bring up their first ever smart TV. OnePlus TV will come with a smart display and added features to enhance TV viewing experience.
